While the VT-1 is still a well-kept secret, Vectrix has surfaced another piece of electric machinery, the funny-looking ES-3. ES-3 is a 3-wheel scooter, but no, it has nothing to do with the likes of Peugeot Metropolis, Quadro and the likes of that.
Vectrix ES-3 is more like a Segway trike, if you wish, as it comes with standing stance. Controls are ergonomically positioned for a comfortable ride and being aboard it gives exceptional visibility as the rider's head will be above the crowd. This makes it highly convenient for security job in malls and similar places.

The transmission is automatic and the Vectrix ES-3 also comes with reverse, a parking brake and electronic differential for extremely tight turning in crowded spaces. It is powered by two rear hub 2kW motors fed by an interchangeable 1 kWh Lithium battery, which takes about 4 hours to recharge.

This makes the Vectrix ES-3 not exactly the dream electric scooter, as it means a full battery would last for 25 miles (40 km). And with the 25 mph top speed, the ES-3 means one hour of fun only. Or you could buy three more battery packs and swap. Definitely not the best machine for commuting.

There's no price announced for the Vectrix ES-3, but in case the 3-wheeler comes with neat MSRP might just see this one float.
