British B-roads now have a new hero, in the person of Mr. Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition, which is set to arrive in showrooms across the UK this month. Powering the front wheels through a mechanical multi-plate limited slip differential, the vehicle’s turbocharged 1.6-liter engine has had its output increased from 192 hp and 230-266 Nm to 205 hp and 250-280 Nm, using exhaust, turbo and ECU tweaks.
The vehicle uses bespoke Bilstein springs and dampers, with the ride height being reduced by 20mm at the front and 15mm at the rear. As for the brakes, these are 30 percent lighter and come from Brembo, with the ABS, Traction Control and Electronic Stability Control systems being recalibrated for the new hardware.
The hot hatch covers the 0 to 60 mph (96 km/h) sprint in 6.5 seconds and can reach a top speed of 143 mph (230 km/h).
As for the visual part of the deal, this includes a stainless steel dual exhaust, newly designed forged aluminum wheels in high-gloss gray, and ‘Nürburgring’ logos on the B-Pillars and front spoiler lip. Customers can also choose two new colors: apple green ‘Grasshopper’ and red ‘Henna’
In the cabin, we find front Nurburgring badging on multiple elements, which constantly remind the driver that he’s got a little beast around him.
The Vauxhall Corsa VXR Nurburgring Edition can be yours for GBP22,295 (EUR25,880 or S34,290 at the current exchange rates).
