The Good Design Award 2008 has been won by the exquisite Vandenbrink GTO. The award is given by The Chicago Athenaeum Museum of Architecture and Design and is recognized as the oldest and most prestigious Awards program worldwide.

"We are proud to receive this prestigious award, being recognized by art and industry leaders as a top-level player next to highly esteemed designers like Walter de’Silva. This is a great honor for our young design company," said Michiel van den Brink.

Founded in 1950, the program recognizes designers and manufacturers for creating advanced and innovative concepts that guide the automotive industry.

The Vandenbrink 599/630 GTO received worldwide acclaim by car connoisseurs and collectors. Even the best known TopGear team that criticizes anything with four wheels said: "Ocular nirvana: arguably the best-looking car in the world."

It is reported that only five Vandenbrink GTO's were created and that none of them will be the same, a quality that makes the car unique.

The GTO is built on the chassis and drive train of the already beautiful Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano. The coachwork of the car will be constructed out of aluminum and will be completely new, the only unmodified visible elements being the A-pillars and front window.

The GTO will be powered by a dry sumped DOHC 4 valves per cylinder naturally aspired V12 engine that puts out something close to 650 horsepower and a max torque of 630 Nm. The max speed of the car is estimated at over 330 Km/h with a 0-100 km/h performance of under 3.6 seconds and a power to weight ratio of 0.43 bhp/kg.
