5-time record holder rider Valerie Thompson readies for the first apperance at the Texas Mile race in Beeville, Texas, an event which will take place March 22-24 at the Chase Field Industrial Complex.
Having already ridden at speeds in excess of 200 mph (321 km/h), Valerie Thompson hopes she will also become a member of the "200 MPH Club of Texas", the group of riders who surpass the 200 mph limit during the race.
Valerie's personal top speed was 209.5 mph (337 km/h) during the Mojave Magnum races in 2012, but that was on a 1.5 mile track. Now she rides a BMW S1000RR with race-specced upgrades and she hopes the bike will be up to her ambition.
Her S1000RR got BMW HP4 Race Parts and MS Production carbon fiber components to make it lighter and help Valerie reach her goal. Hopefully we get to see one more lady in the elite of land speed racing.
