Twelve cylinders for twelve times the coolness – that's always been the way of the S600, and just over half a year after the debut of the new S-Class in Germany, "the best car in the world" is now coming to American shores with extra power.
The car that's going to wear the V222 codename is a long wheelbase version of the S, powered by a 6-liter twin-turbo engine pulled from uber-powerful S65 AMG and forced to act grow-up and refined.
Power ratings for the new S600 will come in at 530 PS and a massive 830 Nm of torque, delivered through a 7-speed G-Tronic to deliver you to 100 km/h in 4.6 seconds.
The new V12 S-Class will make its official debut next week at the Detroit Auto Show. However, to keep us going until then, Mercedes has let slip one photo through various media outlets. Our leaked image reveals the extended wheelbase of the model and some of the custom features that will help us tell it apart.
We also have one video of a supposed S600 prototype that was testing in Germany back in December, or at least that's what the car spotter tells us it is. Supposedly, the S-Class Pullman will succeed the Maybach brand and will have a V12 version, but also a plug-in one and possibly V8s as well.
