Already introduced at the Geneva Motor Show last week, the seventh-generation Volkswagen Golf will make its North-American debut at the New York Auto Show later this month.
The US-spec version of 2013 European Car of the Year will be unveiled at the Jacob Javits Convention Center in three forms: the turbocharged TSI, the diesel TDI and the performant GTI.
The first Volkswagen Golfs to use the new MQB platform will offer new safety features, infotainment options and engines. US will get the 1.8-liter turbocharged in the TSI, the 2.0-liter diesel for the TDI, and the 2.0-liter turbocharged for the GTI, all with the inline four-cylinder configuration.
The three Golf versions will be showcased starting March 27, during the New York Auto Show press days.
The 2015 Golf will go on sale in the first half of 2014 and will be built at Volkswagen's Puebla, Mexico, factory.
