Upgraded Ford Fiesta Hits China

It has impressed the world, and now it is getting ready to take on, once again, the biggest and one of the fastest growing markets in the world. Ford's smashing hit Fiesta has been tweaked, made to the liking of the Chinese people and now it is getting ready to be launched, in 2011 guise, on the streets of Asia's super power.

The 2011 version of the model comes with a few nip'n'tucks, several additions and even a new suffix name: Fengchao. To be used for the notchback version, Fengchao will stand for a refreshed interior color, improved materials, new technologies and fresh exterior colors. The new starting price for the Fiesta in China is  79,900 RMB.

For the Fiesta Sport+ hatchback, Ford prepared a up-to-date 1.5l engine and automatic transmission, as well as a revamped 16-inch aluminum alloy wheel hub, redesigned front and rear bumper, front lamp and leather-covered steering wheel.

The infotainment and comfort of the driver and passengers is insured with the addition of a 6-speaker stereo surround-sound system, a USB interface equipped in the Trend, Sport and Ghia Models, two hi-fi rear speakers complete with steering wheel mounted audio controls and even ambient lighting for higher grade models.

"The Ford Fiesta has won the hearts and minds of the Chinese consumers since the introduction of the car in March 2009. It is very fashionable and exciting to look at and great to drive. Moreover, it is equipped with innovative thinking and technologies that deliver great fuel-efficiency with class-leading 5 star C-NCAP safety," said Marin Burela, president of Changan Ford Mazda Automobile.

“We are building on that great success by launching the 2011 Fiesta. We're confident that it will continue to be a very successful car in China."
