A video posted by one of Texas' police departments on the inter-webs recently caught everyone's attention by showing what really goes down inside a patrol car. The two officers are clearly enjoying Katy Parry's song "Dark Horse".
Ranell Roy and Ariel Ronell of the Rosenberg Police Department filmed themselves singing the number one song in America right now as part of a bid to connect with the local comunity, showing that officers have a human side.

Despite some criticism, most people have given a positive response to the video posted on Facebook last week and there are plans for more like it. Rosenberg's PD has shots of officer Ranell Roy saving a kitty and could teach America's law enforcers a thing or two about public relations.

"The message is that we're not the enemy, we're the friends of the community," says the officer, who's become a bit of local celebrity. With upwards of 200,000 Facebook shares, it's clear that his message is reaching a lot of people.

Let's examine the video a little bit. Both officers buckle up and start bobbing their heads to the sound of Perry's hit song. And when the music starts, you expect Ariel to sing Katy's lines and Roy to do the rapping, right? No, it's the other way around, showing confidence and a sense of humor most taser-happy officers need.
