Twin-Turbo Ford GT Sets New Standing Half Mile Speed Record

The Ford GT’s production ended quite a few years ago, but the supercar that borrowed its engine (block) from a truck is far from retired from the performance scene. The latest example of a GT that became famous for its performance comes in the adjacent video, which shows twin-turbo example of the car setting a new standing half mile record.
We’ve talked about this car before, when it managed to set a new standing mile record at the Texas Mile back and March and now it’s back. Driven by Sean Kennedy, the vehicle managed to hit 212.9 mph (342 km/h) over the weekend, setting a new record.

The vehicle is reportedly powered by an Accufab Racing V8 unit, which uses a pair of Precision Turbochargers, being tuned by Shane Tecklenburg and Henessey Performance Engineering.
