Tron Legacy LED Watch Concept Introduced

Product design studio Tokyoflash has recently presented the 7RON timepiece concept, a LED wristwatch that draws inspiration from Disney’s latest 3D movie, Tron Legacy, which is scheduled to launch at nationwide theaters this month. The design was submitted by Scott, a Tokyoflash user.

“This watch design takes its inspiration from one of Scott’s favorite films as a kid, TRON, and from his Pimp Pimpin Ain’t Easy watch.  He wants something that will get noticed when it lights up and that’s why he came up with an electroluminescence strip around the whole watch strap,” Tokyoflash says.

The two rings (styled on a Tron Disc) represent minutes (outer) and hours (inner). The break in the ring represents the time in a normal clock face layout. The electroluminescence strip and LED watch face makes the whole watch light up and will definitely stand out from other watches.

The concept is presented in a three-color choice, based on the LightCycle scene, hence the red, blue and yellow versions. So far, the idea has attracted a lot of thumbs-up so far, with many enthusiasts wishing for it to be made.

“I guess the watch is actually roughly based around all 3 of my Tokyoflash watches (pimpin ain easy, rougue and oberon). The idea is for the watch to get noticed, to light up like never before. The TRON style seemed to fit that requirement,” Scott says.

Meanwhile, Tron fans can at least feast their eyes with a replica of the virtual rides from the movie thanks to parker Brothers Choppers, who have created several street-legal Tron LightCycle bikes that can be yours for $55,000. Unfortunately, there are only four examples left, so if you have the cash, you’d better hurry.
