Triumph Signed Chaz Davies for WSS

ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing has signed an agreement with British rider Chaz Davies for the remainder of the World Supersport season. This means the Briton will compete in the last three races of the World Supersport Championship at Imola, Magny-Cours and Portimao.

Davies, 22, proved his racing skills by winning the Daytona 200 for Kawasaki in 2008. Moreover, he also competed in four MotoGP rounds for the Pramac Ducati team in 2007. Until recently, he raced in America’s Daytona SportBike series for the factory Aprilia team on the RSV1000R, where he finished ninth in the standings.

By signing with Triumph, the young Briton will be replacing Gianluca Nannelli, pairing up with Garry McCoy. Davies has already took the BE1-prepared Triumph Daytona 675 and has just ten days left to get ready for the next round at Imola, wsbk.com reported.

"I would like to thank Giuliano (Rovelli) and the team for this opportunity,"
stated Davies. "This is my first chance to ride in the WSS Championship and I am excited to experience it and give it my best shot. I've watched ParkinGO Triumph BE1 Racing Team's results progress and I think that between the team and myself we can aim for strong results on the three-cylinder Triumph.”

ParkinGO team manager, Giuliano Rovelli, said, "Last year we came really close to signing a deal with Chaz. Today I am proud to have a British rider of his stature in the seat of the Triumph Daytona 675. Despite his youth he is a very experienced rider and I feel certain that he will fully express the potential of our bike, an equal match for Garry McCoy.”
