Toyota Sub-compact SUV In the Works

City sub-compact SUVs... that’s what all people want now according to the latest studies. And Toyota doesn’t have one yet.

Around 4.1 meters long, more practical than a supermini, high safety, low fuel consumption and a bit more higher suspension to fit more activities, so a sub-RAV4 model will be perfect to fit in the segment.

“That’s what customers are saying,” Toyota Australia product planning manager Mark Dobson told CarAdvice. “That’s the car they [the customers] want to buy. Those types of cars were seen to satisfy those trends.”

The closest car that meets the criteria is sub-brand Daihatsu’s Terios (pictured above), which was a rebadged Toyota Rush. So this means that Toyota already has the base set, all it needs to do is to upgrade the platform a bit and come up with an attractive design. Since it’s going to be a sub-compact SUV, it will probably be based on the current Yaris, so try imagining the model after it took some steroids.
