As with clients continuing to upgrade the stock GT 86 model to improve its already racing capabilities, Toyota has developed a set of performance tweaks for the mode recently.
The enhancements were developed in Japan by Tada’s engineering in order to outperform any aftermarket offers. Toyota recently gave Australia’s media a sneak peek at the new upgrades for the GT 86, which are said to grow in number in the near future.

The tuned GT 86 prototype shown in Canaberra was riding on larger 18 by 7.5-inch BBS forged alloy wheels wrapped in Dunlop Direzza R-spec tires, connected to non-adjustable Sachs dampers. The springs, swaybars and bushings are carryovers for now, but Tetsuya Tada admitted another batch of upgrades to be developed soon.

However, an engine power upgrade wasn’t mentioned, so fans disappointed by the 200 stock horsepower will still have to boost the output up with aftermarket parts.
