The 2013 Toyota RAV4 is enjoying a significant rise in sale since January, with the Japanese SUV becoming the country’s third best-selling compact, behind the Ford Escape and the Honda CR-V.
According to Toyota, the fourth-generation RAV4 has been setting Canadian sales records since its launch. Last month, delivers grew 36 percent compared to the same period last year, while March and February sales rose 95.7 and 59.6 percent over 2012.
"They came out with a new style, and we can't keep them in stock," said Steve Cowell, sales associate at Eastway Toyota in Windsor, Ontario. "I'd say it's our No. 1 selling vehicle right now."
Powered by a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission, the 2013 Toyota RAV4 delivers 176 hp and 172 lb-ft (232.9 Nm) of torque. The efficient front-wheel drive version returns 31 mpg highway and 24 mpg city.
