Toyota has announced the introduction of a hybrid version for the eleventh-generation Corolla in Japan. The vehicle is available to order in both sedan (Axio) and station wagon (Fielder) versions as we speak.
According to Toyota, the Corolla hybrid returns a fuel economy of 33 kilometers per liter in the Japanese cycle (3 liters/100km) thanks to its highly efficient 1.5-liter gasoline Atkinson-cycle hybrid powertrain.
As for the vehicle’s design, the hybrid will sport an exclusive front grille, Synergy Blue badges, and a Light Blue Metallic exterior color among other things. Inside, the Corolla gains special seat fabric, exclusive panel designs, and artificial leather-covered instrument panel and shift gear.
The Japanese automaker is looking to sell about 2,500 hybrid Corollas per year in its home market.
