The A3 e-tron will be the very first Audi hybrid car sold in Australia when this German compact arrives there next year.
An Audi official talked to CarAdvice and said the A3 e-tron will not be a volume car. Their report suggests this hybrid won't necessarily save you money, since the rival Holden Volt costs almost AUD60,000, a steep price to pay in order to save the environment.

Of course, the A3 e-tron is also a better performance and luxury car. While its claimed fuel economy of 1.5 l/100km is impressive enough, its 0 to 100 km/h time of 7.6 seconds is basically in hot hatch territory.

The system output of the A3 Sportback e-tron is 150 kW (204 hp), and system torque is 350 Nm (258.15 lb-ft). Its petrol power comes from the latest 1.4 TFSI engine producing 150 hp. The Volt can only dream of those sorts of numbers.
