We are surrounded by violence and bad examples, and while we may witness a lot of ‘bad things’, we never (or very rarely) imitate the bad and irresponsible behavior of others. It seems that whenever audio-visual committees get together to discuss their work, they always end up banning something, usually for no apparent reason.
A Toyota GT86 commercial has just been banned in the UK, for ‘encouraging’ dangerous driving, despite the fact that Toyota, as a company, is well aware that British laws governing commercials are very strict and limiting, yet they probably didn`t expect this particular ad to get the ban.

The video itself, touts the GT86 as ‘the real deal’, arguing that every vehicle is nowadays detached and drivers use their cars in a robotic fashion, if you will, whereas the sporty Japanese car is a way for regular people to break free from this dull and boring world.

It is not even a real video, but rather a video game style animation, in which the driver breaks through a barrier at the end, getting out of the city, and onto an open road. We say that this is absurd, as it is an appropriate way to promote a sports car - they couldn`t have just made any commercial about, they had to make one which did the car justice, and this one does. However, there is another way to view this - the ad may have been banned, in order to make it more popular...
