It seems that the Toyota GT86 and its two siblings are not the only new sports car that the Japanese giant has planned. Apparently, they will be making two more, according to the chief engineer of the project, Tetsuya Tada, who spoke to Top Gear.
Tada said: “The first is more mass-market and cheaper than the 86,” while the other, predictably, is “more upmarket than the 86.” Rumors suggest that the smaller car would be priced around the $20,000 mark, yet with the recent instability of the Yen, the final cost may end up being higher than that.
The larger model is most certainly a spiritual successor to the awesome Supra, yet the information has so far not been confirmed by any official source, Tada included. Rumors that it may be a hybrid have also arisen, yet they are currently just rumors and may turn out to be false.
