Launched last year at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the Toyota GT 86 will reportedly return there this year, but in another form...
The GT 86 TRD Griffon pure-breed racing version will be making its UK debut at the event this year. Developed by Toyota Racing Developments, the GT 86 Griffon is designated specifically for track use, bearing heavy modifications to reduce its weight, strengthen the chassis and improve performance.

The body follows the same lines, but carbon fiber bonnet, roof, doors, boot lid and rear wings have replaced the stock ones, while carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) was used to make the bumpers, front wings and rear diffuser.

Inside, you will find a TRD bucket’seat, gear shift knob, ignition button and gauges along with a Momo steering wheel and Takata seatbelts. Performance has been upgraded by the means of fitting a reinforced suspension and a TRD differential along with a new oil cooler, racing brakes and 18-inch wheels wrapped in Yokohama Advan tires.
