After Subaru said that there’s no way a convertible BRZ, Toyota GT 86 or Scion FR-S is going to happen, due to production costs and the amount of modifications, there are slim chances we’re going to see a four-door version either.
But despite the bad news, designers are still pushing their imagination and come up with nice renderings of such vehicles. Like this one from RM.Design, which shows how a possible four-door coupe GT 86 might look like if it’s ever going to happen.
I personally consider that the GT 86 should remain a two-door coupe as it was initially planned - compact, cheap, reliable, generously powered and fun to drive. Stretching it to add two more doors will totally spoil its handling an the added weight will render the 2-liter engine almost obsolete.
