Toyota made headlines in India with the launch of the tailor-made Etios sedan back in 2010. This was followed a year later by the Etios hatchback. Both have proven successful, so much so that the Japanese automaker is thinking about sending it to other emerging markets.
According to various industry rumors, Brazil is the next stage where the Etios and Etios Liva will be offered. Of course, the car will have to be re-engineered to meet local conditions.

A prime concern for affordable cars is ethanol compatibility, since the market for the affordable gasoline alternative is doing well in Brazil.

Production of the Etios should start soon at Toyota’s factory in Sao Paulo. The company expects somewhere in the region of 70,000 orders per year, which is a decent figure.

The Etios sedan is built in Bangalore for the Indian market. This factory is operated by the Kirloskar Group-Toyota Kirloskar Motor(TKM) joint venture and has a production capacity of about 80,000 units per year. The car is available with a 1.5-liter 16-valve DOHC engine with 89 hp at 5600 rpm and 132 Nm at 3000 rpm.

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
