The Toyota Celica became famous for its extensive use in rallying, with its first World Rally Championship event attended being the 1972 RAC Rally. However, its first victory came later in 1982 Rally of New Zealand.
The model that is up for sales is a later version Celica GT4 ST185 in Safari Rally trim. This spec model is responsible for 16 full WRC series wins and 3 overall wins in the W2L series. Among drivers that took first place in this Celica model was Carlos Sainz in 1992, Juha Kankkunen in 1993 and Didier Auriol in 1994.

The 1995 European Rally Championship along with the 1997 Rally of Malaysia are another two examples of races dominated by the Celica GT4.

It’s pretty much pointless to talk you through the features on this car for sale. All you need to know is that it’s a proper rally car with a lot of history, there were only four made and it comes with many parts, as the owner says in the ad.

As you can imagine, such a car doesn’t come cheap and the current owner asks for €170,000. It appears to be undamaged and just a little dusty, so the price seems fair for a collectible like this.
