Toyota Aygo Black Released in the UK

Toyota UK has created a new special edition for its Aygo hypercompact, called the Aygo Black.

The Toyota Aygo Black is based on the Aygo+ model and offers new interior and exterior styling features. The car comes dressed in a Tempest Black metallic paint and rides on 14 inch light alloy rims. The interior of the vehicle offers Alcantara and leather upholstery, a leather finish for the sports steering wheel and a leather trimmed gearshift knob - this is available for the models equipped with the manual transmission.

The car is powered by Toyota’s Optimal Drive 1.0 liter VVT-i petrol engine that develops 68 hp at 6,000 rpm and 68.6 lb-ft of torque at 3,600 rpm. Matted to a five speed manual gearbox, the unit returns a combined cycle fuel consumption of 62.8 UK mpg (52.3 US mpg) and only emits 106 grams of CO2 for every kilometer. The vehicle needs 14.2 seconds to reach 62 mph and has a top speed of 97.6 mph (157 km/h).

The Black edition is offered for both the three and the five door version of the Aygo. Both models can come with an optional air conditioning system. The carmaker also offers an optional Multimode transmission for the five door Aygo Black that features the air conditioning system.

Toyota’s insurance arm, Toyota Motor Insurance, offers one year of cost-free cover for the Aygo Black (this offer is available for customers who are older than 21).

The Toyota UK dealer network has started taking orders for the new version, but the car’s exact delivery time has not been announced yet.
