Toyota has released new updates for the official app on Android and iPhone, and just like usual, the company “forgot” to roll out a changelog too.
In other words, while new versions of the Toyota app are now available for download on mobile devices, it’s up to users to discover what’s new, as the carmaker shared no specifics on what’s included.

On iPhone, for example, the new version of the Toyota app is 1.0.21, which is just a small update from the previous 1.0.20 release. This means there’s a good chance only minor fixes are included given the small version bump.

The new update comes with a generic changelog that Toyota has previously included in other releases too, so the company claims that you’ll get app improvements, performance optimizations, and bug fixes.

The same on Android, where the Toyota app has received a new update as well, so all Toyota owners can now update the app regardless of the mobile platform they use.

Toyota not sharing any changelog for its updates is something that the carmaker does for other apps as well, as Toyota Owners, for example, also comes with only generic release notes.

The official Toyota app for iPhone and Android supports all models released since 2010, and it allows owners to get real-time vehicle health information, and depending on the car, to remotely start and stop the engine, lock and unlock the doors, find the parked car, and check vehicle maintenance alerts and health reports.

Needless to say, it’s a helpful app that Toyota owners should install on their mobile devices, albeit judging from the rating in the App Store, not everyone is pleased with how the whole thing is working. The app has a 2.9 rating out of a maximum of 5, and many of those who posted a review claim they are disappointed because the app doesn’t work consistently.
