Top Management Changes at Peugeot Motorcycles

The most recent Peugeot Motorcycles Board of Directors meeting ended with two important changes at the top management level. Due to the fact that Daniel Riviere resigned from the position of Chairman and Managing Director, a replacement had to be appointed...and quickly.

Therefore, Jean-Marc Gales was named Chairman, while Pierre-Louis Colin has been appointed Managing Director of the Company. From now on, they will be the ones in charge of moving forward with Peugeot Motorcycles’ 110 years of experience on the scooters and mopeds market.

Peugeot Motorcycles was the first manufacturer to market an electric scooter, to equip its 125cc scooters with ABS as standard, to propose a French-made 50cc scooter for less than 1,000 euros and to develop the Compressor scooter. But Gales and Colin have the resume to recommend them as the best men for the job.

Gales is a member of the PSA Peugeot Citroen Board of Management and also in charge of the Marque management within the group. In his speech, he took the opportunity to thank Daniel Riviere for the all the work that he has accomplished, in sometimes difficult circumstances, and for the decisions he has taken in order to return the company to profitability.

Pierre-Louis Colin, 46, joined PSA Peugeot Citroen in 1989 and has occupied various positions within Peugeot Sales, notably as Managing Director in Hungary and in Turkey, as Director of the Iran zone, and then, between 2005 and 2009, as Managing Director in Great Britain. Since June, 2009, he has been the Director in charge of Peugeot's Electric and Hybrid Diesel Vehicles program.
