Tom Hardy’s rise to fame started quite a while back, with a dramatic interpretation of an extremely dangerous convict known as Bronson. That was the part that really took him to the highest heights, portraying the brutal character in an original and convincing manner.
Of course, after that, a lot of new opportunities started showing up and Tom was on a roll. The best role he ever played, in our humble opinion, was Bane in the Dark Knight Rises. Not only he had to do all the acting basically without a mouth but he had to rely only on half of his face to impress us. And he did it.

That’s why, when we heard he was going to star in Locke, we knew that he’s the perfect man for the job. The movie, directed by Steven Knight (known mostly for Eastern Promises), focuses on a dedicated family man that tries to put his life in order on the go.

It’s basically the typical scenario we face almost on a daily basis these days. We have to be so good at multitasking that we don’t realize the importance of the decisions we make on the fly.

In the movie, Tom is seen exclusively behind the wheel of a BMW E70 X5 that, according to the film’s director, was chosen to add credibility to the plot. That’s because, the character Hardy is playing is a successful construction manager. Therefore, he owns a premium, comfortable car, that can also be driven on less than perfect roads. BMW went over to talk to Steven. We also posted the trailer for Locke below, coming to US cinemas on April 25.
