This Stash of Mopar Barn Finds Is Packed With Rare HEMI and Six-Pack Muscle Cars

With less than 10,000 units produced from 1966 through 1971, the HEMI-powered Mopars are among the rarest and most desirable muscle cars. And while we see hundreds of them crossing the auction block every year, many examples are still waiting to be rescued from junkyards and barns.
Fortunately enough, enthusiasts are still saving them for restoration, even when the said cars are in very rough shape due to prolonged exposure to the elements. The Mopar stash you see here includes quite a few rare and potentially valuable Dodges and Plymouth of the HEMI variety.

Documented by YouTube's "Auto Archaeology," this collection of Chrysler vehicles from the golden muscle car era packs more than a dozen iconic rigs built in the late 1960s and early 1970s. The footage begins with a 1969 Dodge Coronet R/T that was born with a 440-cubic-inch (7.2-liter) RB V8.

While not particularly rare, this Coronet is still in one piece and flaunts a silver color you don't see very often on Mopar muscle cars. The 1964 Polara parked next to it is actually a rare gem due to its convertible layout. Dodge produced only a couple thousand drop-tops that year.

Next up, you'll see a 1969 Plymouth Road Runner that's been burned in a fire. It may not seem all that special at first glance, but the VIN confirms it's a two-door hardtop with the A12 package. This makes it one of only 797 examples built like this. Originally finished in Butterscotch, it still has the numbers-matching 440 Six-Barrel, and our host says it will be restored. That's great news!

This Road Runner is not the only Six-Pac car parked on this front lawn. The owner also saved a 1970 Dodge Super Bee sporting the same drivetrain layout. It's not quite as rare as the Plymouth, with a production run of 1,268 units, but it also deserves to be rescued. There's also a 1970 Charger R/T with a six-barrel 440 parked here, and it's one of just 684 made.

Moving on to the HEMI cars I promised above, the collection starts with a 1968 Coronet R/T. Only 219 units were fitted with the range-topping mill that year, and just 136 had the automatic gearbox, like this one here. When restored, this Coronet will be worth more than $200,000.

The stash also includes a couple of HEMI Road Runners. The first one is a 1970 version that's been sitting for more than 20 years. Sadly, the interior has been stripped off, and the grille is missing, but this Mopar is as rare as they get. Specifically, it's one of only 16 (yup, that's not a typo) hardtop HEMI cars equipped with an automatic transmission.

The second HEMI Road Runner is a 1969 version. It's in very poor condition, and the mighty 426 is missing, but it's a desirable four-speed car. It's also a hardtop, which makes it one of 234 examples built in this configuration.

Next up, we have a 1969 Super Bee. This was the nameplate's best year, with 27,800 units delivered, but only 166 customers went with the 426 HEMI. The engine is not under the hood, but the owner has it in storage and will likely restore it at some point. The car has a rust issue, but it's still salvageable.

Finally, there's a 1970 Plymouth HEMI 'Cuda parked in a barn. It's missing much of the front clip, but it's not in terrible shape as far as rust goes. Initially finished in red, it's one of 666 HEMI 'Cuda sold in the United States in 1970. The 1970 Dodge Challenger behind it may look like an R/T HEMI, but it's actually a replica.

All told, this tiny Mopar stash is as spectacular as they get, thanks to almost a dozen HEMI and Six-Pack rigs. Sure, most of them are a little crusty and need expensive restorations to come back to life, but all are worth the investment. The five HEMI cars alone will be worth a seven-figure fortune once refreshed. Check them all out in the video below.
