That’s peanuts compared to what we’re about to show you though. Apparently, Franz Simon, one of the founders of the company, left a while ago to set up his own, separate company in Dubai. The result of his efforts is called Simon Motorsports or SMS for short.
One of their first projects includes a special M5 taken up to no less than 800 HP and 1,000 Nm (737 lb-ft) of torque. That’s right, it even puts the G-Power M6 to shame...
According to Franz himself, the numbers were achieved through a couple of carefully thought out improvements such as a new ODB flash, piggyback, DCT flash to remove torque limitations (the standard DCT gearbox is rated at 700 Nm), a full iPE exhaust (made of inconel alloy) and their own custom catless downpipes.
Sounds good, right? Well it’s not just on paper. Check out the video below and ‘hear’ for yourself. However, until we get a couple more details and a certified dyno run, we can’t really be sure of just how much power this car puts out either at the crank or the rear wheels.
