Imperia was a Belgian car manufacturer between 1906 and 1948. Their first cars were designed by German Paul Henze and they were powered by 3, 4.9 and 9.9-liter four-cylinders engines.
After over 50 years of inactivity, the company was bought and resurrected by Green Propulsion. A couple of years ago, the company designed, with the help of Denis Steven, a concept car named the Imperia GP.

Now in 2013, the car is ready to enter production. It features a classic design from the past Imperia models, with elements such as a tall vertical radiator grille. The retro theme is continued at the interior as well, having a dashboard dominated by curves and classic instrumentation.

The classic racer features a modern hybrid powertrain, made by combining a 1.6-lier turbocharged engine producing 200bhp and and an electric motor good for another 150 bhp. Adding all up, the maximum output is 350 bhp and 610 Nm of torque, and adding that the car weighs only 1,200 kg (2,645 lbs), means it will accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 6 seconds on full electric mode, and 4 seconds in hybrid mode. Top speed is limited to 216 km/h (134 mph) to avoid complete battery depletion.

The first models will be delivered later this year for a price of €125,000 each.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
