You know how those handleless Segways are called “hoverboards,” right? Well, we all know what they really are - electric two-wheeled self-balancing scooters that most definitely don't fly, for the record - but don’t tell this guy.
In the world of new mobility devices, these must rank pretty high among the gadget freaks. They offer the same type of movement options as the well-known Segway, only they’re considerably smaller and thus easier to navigate with across the crowded sidewalks.
And here lies the problem: you will be frowned upon by pedestrians, while using the bike lanes is out of the question as you can’t go fast enough. So, just like it’s bigger ancestor we keep mentioning, they will probably be confined to recreational use and shopping mall security duties.
In the meantime, though, if you already bought one of these, you can use it for what is surely going to be the best Halloween dress-up, as the video below clearly demonstrates. That’s if nobody read our previous post about the Dieselgate scandal costume which is like the best trump card in the packet and beats anything hands down.
This guy, however, proves what you can do with a small rug, an Aladdin costume and one of these things we’ve already agreed are not hoverboards. However, you can do it better than him: go for a black mini-Segway and try to somehow switch off its lights, and your impersonation will surely come out more realistic. Well, it’s not like there was such a thing as a real magic carpet, but you know what I mean. Alternatively, you could try a larger carpet, so as to completely cover the wheels. That should leave everyone guessing for at least a moment.
On the other hand, he is helped by the fact that he actually seems to be originating from the same place as the “One Thousand and One Nights” stories, so that’s going to be harder to beat. All credit goes to Vine user Mo Khan.
