This week will end with Halloween, which means all the cool dads and moms are working heavily to create the coolest costumes and rides for their kids. Because let’s face it, it’s going to take more than knocking on your neighbor’s door and saying the classic “Trick or Treat” to get that candy going.
Before you jump to conclusions, you should know that these two have been making customized toy cars for their kids for a couple of years now, with the one in question being their latest creation. More precisely, we’re looking at the fourth contraption they made mainly using the same materials.

In Mad Max: Fury Road, The War Rig is Imperator Furiosa’s ride. The vehicle is a 78-foot 18 wheeler based on a Tatra T815, an all-wheel-drive truck manufactured in the Czech Republic. As you can imagine, it has been through some heavy customization, as the cab, initially placed over the engine, was moved to the middle of the chassis. Moreover, a custom front end was fabricated, and additional passenger space was added to the back of the cab.

Nevertheless, we wouldn’t want to bore you with the tech details. The point is, this toy car has nothing to do with the Central European-based automaker; we’re talking about hand-made stuff all the way. Well, almost. Here are a couple of details on how they made it:

“A couple of cheap second-hand PowerWheels Jeeps (Wrangler, and Barbie) from the base plus the usual cardboard, electronics, and paint. Powered by four motors, a smooth starting throttle, power steering, keyed ignition, sounds effects with pull cord truck air horn, and the ability for 11-month-old Furiosa to drive via an overriding remote controlled iPhone app.”

For those interested to get some inspiration, you’ll want to know the folks were kind enough to share some of the technical details on their website. So that you know, it's there where the creative engineers put most of their projects.
