People are crazy and thanks to them, the world isn't the boring place it would be if everybody were as sane as they think they are. But while some choose to manifest this slight derailment from the norm by hanging one-handed from tall buildings for no apparent reasons, others take a much less dangerous course.
It was a certain Miss Paris Hilton who launched the whole purse-dog revolution about ten years ago when her Chihuahua named Tinkerbell became almost just as famous as her. And definitely, a lot more sympathized. Tinkerbell could be seen accompanying her high-profile owner everywhere riding in her oversized purses, wearing clothes and jewelry and probably smelling of perfume.
Sadly, though, Tinkerbell died last year, so the world of pampered pets is now missing a poster-dog. Luigi Maestro makes a very strong case for himself by frequently driving a white BMW through the Upper East Side of Manhattan. Well, to be fair, he isn't doing much in the sense of driving, but just sits pretty in his electric RC BMW as his "mommy" uses the remote to move him around because leashes are so Lower West Side.
Luigi Maestro is a Shih Tzu little mutt that received the white Beemer for his fifth birthday, and has been seen driving it ever since. The pair has started to show up on Twitter recently and, sure enough, became a sensation in no time. Luigi seems to cope well with his newly found stardom status while the owner isn't shying away from all the attention either.
After a few spottings, it has become apparent that her name is Anisha Lakhani, and she's an ex-teacher and an author. “My little Luigi has always been an Upper East Side high-roller, and nothing could be more fitting for him than a Beemer," she told the NYC Post. We're not even going to comment on that, but we anxiously await to see another pooch show up on Luigi's street in a Ferrari. Let the battle commence.
