What else better to do on a lazy Saturday than race a Ken Block Audi S1 Hoonitron electric beast against an Audi S1 Quattro Group B car on a quarter-mile drag strip? We shouldn't even care about how this will play out because, in this case, it's not about who wins, but the spectacle itself. So, without any further ado, let's see what our contestants are packing under their shells, and then it's off to the wacky races!
We're starting with Ken Block's S1 Hoonitron, which is not part of the regular Gymkhana series but proudly represents the Electrikhana category. Sadly, we lost Ken Block in January 2023 in a tragic snowmobile accident. We'll never see his out-of-this-world talent evolve even further with all that torque from electric vehicles.

In his memory, CD Projekt RED introduced the Type-66 Hoon in Cyberpunk 2077's latest Update 2.0, completely free of charge. It's amazing!

It looks out of this world, handles just like a Gymkhana would, and has two machine guns strapped to the front bumper, so you can mow down your enemies and blow up cars to your heart's content. You can find it in the upper-right region of the map, in some hangars shaped like a "thick" L on the map.

Returning to our current-day Hoonitron, the S1 has dual electric motors that can output 670 hp (680 ps) and 472 lb-ft (640 Nm) of torque. It has a 50kWh battery pack that makes the car weigh 3,571 lbs. or 1,620 kg in total.

According to Mat Watson from the "carwow" YouTube channel, who organized this race, this prototype costs around $10,000,000. Suffice it to say you don't want to scratch or bump it.

Now for the 1985 Audi S1 Quattro Group B rally car. It has a 2.1-liter 5-cylinder turbocharged engine that can deliver 493 hp or 500 ps with 354 lb-ft (480 Nm) of torque. The AWD Audi S1 has a 6-speed manual gearbox, weighing just 2,403 lbs. or 1,090 kg. In 2023, it's worth roughly 2,073,490 US dollars or 1.7 million GBP (British pounds).

Now that the introductions have been made and tires have been warmed, let's see some rubber meet the tarmac at blazing speeds.

During the first race, both cars jumped from the starting line at the same time, but obviously, the electric S1 blasted the 1985 rally car out of space. They did a rerun to see if the Audi S1 Quattro Group B could improve the time, but the result was the same.

The Hoonitron crossed the 1/4-mile finish line in 10.1 seconds, while the rally car did it in 11.6 seconds. Not too bad for a $8,000,000 difference.

They went for a couple of roll races after, where, wouldn't you know it... the Electrikhana won by a mile again. During the final test, meaning braking from 100 mph, the old timer finally won.
