Dodge has arguably produced nearly 210,000 Coronets for the 1965 model year, of which 205,175 units remained in the States. The rest of the units were sent to Canada as part of special orders, as officially, the Coronet wasn't available in the country.
The V8 was, unsurprisingly, the number one configuration. It accounted for over 153,500 units, with the slant-six unit making its way to just 51,000 cars.

When it comes to the Coronet 500, the hardtop was a common choice, with over 29,500 cars. The convertible body style was ordered by only 3,168 customers.

One of these convertibles landed on eBay earlier this week courtesy of seller amiller1952, and in addition to the body style, it also flexes something that makes it unique. The owner says it's the only W45 with this color and options, and the Galen's registry can prove it. Some purists believe the database maintained by Galen Govier is incomplete, but it's still a great resource when official Chrysler data isn't available.

The Coronet comes without rust problems, and the owner says it's still "very original." The factory AM radio still works.

It's unclear if the vehicle has been the subject of a restoration project, but the power convertible top is in a tip-top shape. The Coronet also has a fully functional air conditioning system.

As if all these weren't enough, the odometer indicates an intriguing number. The Coronet has only 22K miles on the clock, and the mileage is believed to be original.

The engine under the hood is a 361 big-block V8. The owner doesn't share other specifics, but it's safe to assume it starts and runs properly. It's impossible to tell from the photos, but I'd like to know if this is the original engine and has ever been rebuilt, especially because everything else on the Coronet is in tip-top shape.

Otherwise, finding something to complain about on this vehicle is hard. The Coronet looks like a fantastic car that deserves better pics, as the owner posted on eBay screenshots of the photos stored on their smartphone. You'll probably get better photos if you're interested in a purchase, but you should still book a ticket to Florida and see it in person.

Meanwhile, anyone can buy the car on eBay at what looks to be a fair price. The owner is willing to let the car go for $24,500, but they also enabled the "Make Offer" button if someone online has another deal in mind. The auction will expire in 28 days, so you have all the time in the world to convince your wife that you "need" a rare Coronet 500 convertible to keep in your garage away from the heavy sun, rain, and snow.
