You might remember Vitesse AuDessus from last month when we told you about how they can dress any supercar in a carbon fiber tux.
The thing is, their carbon fiber expertise goes beyond a body work and extends to one-piece full carbon fiber rims. It's not the first time we've seen one of those, thanks to a video where Christian von Koenigsegg demonstrates their lightweight nature.
Coming back to Vitesse AuDessus' proposal, you need to know the rims are made of carbon fiber fabric hand-laid and autoclave-cured in CNC-milled aluminum moulds, a process shared by Formula 1 race teams and the Sweden-based supercar manufacturer Koenigsegg we mentioned above.
“In certain cases, our wheels reduce unsprung weight by more than 50%,“ said CEO Stefany Sanchez. “This dramatic reduction translates into increased acceleration, reduced stopping distance, improved steering and handling, improved grip, reduced road noise and vibrations and improved fuel economy.”
The company's range is made of bespoke wheels but also OEM-spec one-piece full carbon fiber wheels for all current Lamborghini, Ferrari, McLaren, Bugatti, Bentley, Aston Martin, Porsche, Mercedes-Benz and BMW models.
In terms of pricing, well, we can tell you they're not cheap. For example, pricing for OEM wheels starts at $8,875/wheel while bespoke pricing begins at $10,125/wheel.
However, the price tag can go up depending on the desired design, dimensions and performance requirements. Also, the average lead time for Vitesse AuDessus wheels is three to four weeks, and each product comes with a five-year warranty against defect or failure and a replacement guarantee.
