The latest project in which renown customizer at WCC (West Coast Customs) are involved in is to make its official debut at the 2011 Zippo 200 NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Watkins Glen International on August 13, 2011. The creation in question is a custom-designed Zippo vehicle, which will be used in promotional activities for the famous windproof pocket lighter brand.

As expected, the production of the new Zippo custom vehicle will be the focus of an upcoming episode of "Inside West Coast Customs" that will air this fall, and the conclusion of which will be filmed live on site at the 2011 Zippo 200. There, the new vehicle will stand alongside the original Zippo Car - a custom designed 1947 Chrysler New Yorker.

"Working with an iconic company like Zippo, that's such a big part of American culture, is an amazing experience,"
said Ryan Friedlinghaus, CEO and founder, West Coast Customs. "Zippo's quality, reliability and design standards mirror those I strive for at West Coast Customs and to be able to work together to create a unique vehicle for Zippo is an experience in itself."

Following the unveiling, Friedlinghaus will issue the most famous words in racing - "Gentlemen, start your engines" - as Grand Marshal of the 2011 Zippo 200. Friedlinghaus will also lead the Nationwide field in the brand new custom Zippo vehicle during the first warm up lap of the race.

"This was an exciting project for Zippo as it represents the coming of a new generation and the future direction of this company,"
said George Duke, Zippo owner and chairman of the board.

WCC has also released a few images from the various creation stages of the Zippo vehicle, which you can see below.
