When Bentley came up with the V8 version of the Continental GT, they wanted a lighter engine with better economy than the W12. Meanwhile, when Mercedes came up with the S63 AMG, they wanted a V12 engine with more power than the V8 and screw the fuel economy. Contradiction? More like two sides of the same uber-powered philosophy.
We'd never thought we'd see the day when these two cars would go up against each other, but it's finally come thanks to the crazy Russian at the Moscow Mile.

The V8 Bentley is powered by a 4-liter twin-turbo V8 co-developed with Audi. It produces 500bhp or 507 PS and 660 Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the Mercedes S65 AMG is a real monster, as its 6-liter V12 produces no less than 630 PS (621bhp) of torque and an almost unbelievable 1000 Nm of torque. What's more, this particular one has been tuned to 700 horsepower.

Close race? not even by a long shot, as the might of German engineering triumphs over the Brit.
