It's hard to keep track of all the models sold by Hyundai, especially now that it's launching a luxury division centered around the Genesis. However, we're pretty sure that these are all the SUVs sold by the famed South Korean automaker. Yes, there's also the Veracruz that isn't being shown here, but that model went out of production a few months ago.
The biggest oddity in this video is the Creta, a subcompact vehicle that looks just as tough as a Land Rover yet it is technically just a crossover. The all-new Tucson is arguably the sexiest car in the video, although the facelifted Sante Fe models are also interesting.
About the Creta, it features a more traditional SUV look because, in its Indian domestic market, people have higher expectations of small cars. It might be sold in Europe and America in 2017, but several changes should be made by that time. Based on Hyundai Motor’s evolved “Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 Design Philosophy,” the baby SUV model measures 4,270 x 1,780 x 1,630 mm (total length x width x height) while offering a substantial 190mm ground clearance.
Engine choices include the base 1.6 Gamma Dual VTVT gasoline with 123 hp, followed by a 1.4-liter U2 CRDi diesel with 90 hp and a more powerful 1.6 U2 CRDi with 128 hp.
In addition to being sexy, the new Tucson could be considered the most technologically advanced, offering a twin-clutch gearbox for the first time on a Hyundai SUV. However, the Santa Fe and its long wheelbase derivative are more popular in America.
The biggest SUV currently offered by Hyundai measures 4,915 x 1,885 x 1,695 mm, meaning it's about two feet (645mm, to be precise) longer than the Creta.
Editor's note: Yes, the video is still a bunch of marketing bull. But at least it's big budget, well-edited marketing bull with eagles and sand dunes.
