The Nurburgring Is Often Full of Classic VW Beetles, Sometimes with Porsche Power

Now that the 2015 Touristenfahrten season is closed, we want to take some time to show you how much Beetle owners love the Nurburgring. As a result, we’ve brought along the compilation below, which shows these slabs of Germany rushing through the Green Hell.
The footage shows tons of Beetles that were caught lapping the ‘Ring over the course of the current year, which means you’ll get to see an entire palette of Käfers.

In fact, you can even play a few games, perhaps together with your friends, as the almost six minutes of footage are a perfect opportunity for that.

For instance, you could try to guess how many of these Bugs come with Porsche power. Sure, it’s easy to spot those that wear wheels with the Zuffenhausen carmaker’s logo, but perhaps not all of them are also motivated by Porsche boxer units. And, of course, you may or may not run into the occasional sleeper that packs Porsche motivation, but doesn’t want to show it.

A serious sound system will help, but all the hi-fi investments in the world won’t make up for a well-trained ear.

Since the clip offers excellent quality, another way of passing your lunch break (don’t let yourself be tricked by the video length, the pause-and-analyze sessions can take a while) is to go for the “spot the lookalike” challenge.

While not as obvious as in the case of owner-pet-dog resemblance cases, some of these cars fall perfectly in line with the appearance of their owners. Or is it the other way around?

Regardless, you’ll have something to do until 2016 arrives and we all get to see how exactly the track changes, aimed at increasing safety, affect the Nordschleife. Those of you who want to know more about the topic can find their answers here.
