As many UK car buyers are eagerly awaiting the all-new Focus with cash in hand, Ford has released a coupe of images of showing some examples being delivered to dealership showrooms in preparation for the sales launch. The dynamically styled car comes to the UK in March with a two-model lineup of five-door hatchback and five-door estate.
"Now that the first all-new Focus models have left the Saarlouis plant on schedule and with the highest levels of quality, deliveries to the wider European market will soar. We currently have 12,000 cars in the pipeline for release to markets across Europe," explained Horst Ritze, Ford's Material Planning and Logistics manager.
According to an official press release, the first shipment of 2,500 units have left the production plant in Saarlouis, Germany, last week. Since then, an average of 1,000 cars have been delivered per day and the figure is expected to increase to a daily total of 1,450 later this month.
A high percentage of those cars are destined for the UK market in order to meet the March registration plate change, which usually results in one of the largest sales months of the year. Of the cars being delivered to the island nation, some 70 percent are high-series Titanium models.
"We are seeing very strong demand building up for the new Focus. It's a great looking car loaded with a host of advanced technologies such as Low Speed Safety, which reduces the risk of low-speed collisions; Lane Keeping Aid to stop drifting across lanes, and Active Park Assist – which makes parallel parking a breeze," said Roelant de Waard, European vice president, Marketing, Sales and Service.
