At this year’s SEMA show, there were two noteworthy M4s: the one wearing Vorsteiner’s GTRS4 wide body kit and one wearing a more traditional bolt-on Liberty Walk wide body kit. We sure have a favorite and that’s the Vorsteiner one but some might prefer the LW version and we decided to show you more details about it.
The Japanese tuner is basically doing kits for a variety of cars these days, from Lamborghinis to more modest Bimmers. The M4 therefore, couldn’t’ve been left out because it’s an important car that’s not only desired but also sells in more numbers than Lambos and Ferraris. There’s money to be made here.
For SEMA, the tuner decided to go with a Chromed wrap installed by the guys from Impressive Wrap. In order to make sure everything fits perfectly, the wrap was done before the car was assembled, basically requiring every removable body part to be taken off and ‘dressed up’.
The whole process required a couple of steps. First of all, as we said, all the fenders, wings, lights and whatever was holding the body together had to be taken off. That includes the bonnet, you know.
Then the car is wrapped piece by piece to make sure everything falls into place. After this step, the base body of the car should be wearing the chrome wrap. The Liberty Walk wide body kit is then added to the mix and wrapped itself.
Of course, due to the wider hips of the car, a new set of wheels with bigger lips had to be installed, in order to avoid turning it into a shopping-cart lookalike.
The end result is intriguing to say the least. We don’t like it but we’re sure there’s a market out there for anything. What’s your take?
