"When you have something that makes you feel good, no matter how many bad things happen in your life, why wouldn't you keep it?". Those exact words say enough about what it takes to keep driving the same car for over 23 years.
Those words belong to Randy Balingit-Hartmann, the owner of the first BMW M5 ever to reach San Diego, back in 1989. His car is an E28 model and over the years, recorded over 400,000 miles (640,000 km) on the odometer.

Furthermore, whilst other cars can also achieve such impressive numbers on their dash, this one still has the original transmission and differential. However, Randy is still driving it, after all these years.

Of course, driving one of the first M5s to reach America does come with a variety of issues. Most people didn't know back then that this is a high-performance sedan but the aficionados knew and kept following Randy and asking him questions every time they got the chance.

A true story about BMW passion and how you can get to live with the same car for over 2 decades, put in tasteful clip by the guys from Petrolicious awaits you once you press play. Enjoy!
