At $52,995 from the get-go, the 2021 Chevrolet Suburban is a little bit on the expensive side of full-size SUVs. Comparing the three-row SUV to the Silverado 1500 on which it is based makes it all the more clear. To the point, the half-tonner workhorse with the 5.3-liter V8 that comes standard in the case of the ‘Burban will set you back $37,790 for 2WD, WT trim level, and the largest cab on offer.
It would be more appropriate to compare the LTs between each other, but then again, we won’t talk about the Suburban in this story. As you can tell from the main photo and the gallery, someone has turned the Silverado into a full-size SUV.
MAD Industries is the tuning shop responsible for this build, which is based on the Z71 RST Crew Cab with the smaller of two V8 options. Chassis mods include performance lift springs and shocks from Eibach while the powertrain has been treated to an Odyssey battery and Gibson Performance dual exhaust system.
Riding on Hardline forged wheels measuring 20 by 9.5 inches and wrapped in all-terrain 284/55 tires, the truck-turned-SUV also features a custom “concept cap” from Leer. This upgrade is of the essence, and it comes with LED lighting, keyless entry, a headliner, and integrated style lines to match the Silverado’s exterior.
Spruced up with BASF R-M line Onyx HD paint and R-M Brilliant clearcoat, the pickup with an enclosed cargo area is also treated to deployable running boards, Air Design bolt-on fender flares, a BedSlide cargo management system, and a 54-inch LED light bar from Rigid Industries on the roof. Two Series Pro Spot Lights are also worthy of mention, and the cabin of the “Silburban” isn’t too shabby either.
Pictures of the interior haven’t been published by MAD Industries but we’re told that Roadwire is responsible for the custom leather seat covers, detailed in black leather and perforated suede with blue thread. The BASF R-M line comes into focus once again for the Northsky Metallic Blue paint applied to select parts of the cabin.
Matching leather for the armrests and center consoles, as well as the steering wheel, complete the build.
