After a series of harsh words thrown around from both sides, Tesla Motors and Martin Eberhard, a Tesla founder and former chief executive have settled the suit filed by the former. Of course, the terms of the settlement between the two sides have not been disclosed. Before letting you know what the current CEO of Tesla Motors, Elon Musk, had to say about the company's former chief, let us remind you what he thought about Eberhard back in July.
"At the heart of his attack, Eberhard plays to a common archetype – that of the noble inventor whose invention is usurped by the rich and powerful businessman. He has labored hard to create this impression and there is an intuitive appeal to it, as there is with any archetype, but in this case it is false."
Yesterday however, Musk's tone has changed. "Industry-changing efforts are virtually impossible. Without Martin's indispensable efforts, Tesla Motors would not be here today." And this is AFTER the San Mateo County Superior Court judge decided Eberhard "has no merit" in claiming he is one of the company's founders.
The suit between the two ensued in May, when Eberhard took court action against Musk accusing him of defamation and orchestrating his ousting, Autonews reported. In the months that followed, the battle turned dirty, with Eberhard even saying Musk may not have received his undergraduate degrees or been accepted to graduate school.
Musk, co-founder of PayPal, is currently Tesla CEO and will remain so until 2011. He is to oversee the launch of the manufacturer's Model S.
