Electric bikes for personal urban mobility are quickly transitioning from niche items to the mainstream, so manufacturers from around the globe are trying to diversify their portfolios and offer products that answer to very diverse applications and riding types.
Since many see e-bikes as a viable solution for alleviating transportation issues in large cities worldwide, it only makes sense for manufacturers to make their two-wheelers lighter and smaller to save space, as well as more efficient and easier to use in order to appeal to a wider range of prospective users. One of the companies that are striving to shift people's perception of e-bikes from big and bulky to sleek, compact, and accessible is Mihogo, a Los Angeles-based venture founded in 2016 that has quickly established itself as a leader in the folding fat tire e-bike sector.

Their latest offering is the Mihogo Mini, an electric bike of diminutive proportions that tips the scales at just 42 pounds (19 kilograms) and is also foldable. The new two-wheeler has just made its debut on the crowdfunding platform Indiegogo and is advertised as an e-bike for all seasons, perfect not only for commuters but also for leisure riders, tourists, and families.

Designed with versatility in mind, the new Mihogo Mini boasts a distinctive appearance with an arching frame to which riders can attach various accessories to maximize its use, despite the rather small stature. According to the manufacturer, the e-bike can carry a whopping load of 440 pounds (200 kilograms), so it shouldn't surprise you to see a child seat, a front luggage rack, and frame-mounted bags attached to the bike at the same time.

Moreover, despite its small size, the Mihogo Mini is designed to offer best-in-class performance courtesy of a 350W electric motor built into the rear wheel hub, which will accelerate the e-bike to up to 22 mph (35 kph). In terms of range, the manufacturer promises up to 62 miles (100 km) on a single charge. To achieve such an impressive range for such a compact two-wheeler, Mihogo equipped it with a massive 768Wh battery mounted behind the seat tube.

This top-shelf configuration is coupled with 2.4-inch wide high-grip tires to provide an exceptional riding experience even to outdoor enthusiasts who want to go off the beaten path. Actually, the Mihogo Mini e-bike has five gears and two riding modes, so riders can enjoy a personalized riding experience tailored to their commuting needs.

The company also claims its new e-bike can be folded as small as a suitcase in just three simple steps, making it easy to haul up a flight of stairs, take on a bus, or carry in the trunk of a small car or hatchback. The compact and foldable design also allows for effortless storage at home.

Other noteworthy features include a shock-absorbing front suspension and a 2.4-inch display mounted on the handlebar that shows information on the most important e-bike data. The commuter is also protected against dust and water with IP65 certification.

If the Mihogo Mini e-bike has piqued your interest, you can currently support it on the crowdfunding platform but don't forget to exercise caution before pledging any amount of money. You will get a 50 percent discount, as the e-bike is offered for just $399 USD as part of the early bird promos (the standard price after the official market launch will be $799 USD).
