Are 218 HP enough to have fun in a proper car on the Nurburgring? Apparently yes, if you know what you’re doing, of course. The guys from Bridge to Gantry took a rental for a lap on the famous track and boy, did they push it to the limit!
They went for one of the few companies that offer such services for the Green Hell, Rent4Ring and chose a Stage 2 BMW 125i for their racing purposes. Now, you might be wondering what does Stage 2 125i mean at Rent4Racing.

Well, the car’s power output wasn’t meddled with. It’s still pushing 218 HP to the rear wheels from the 2-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged engine up front. However, they did modify it to better cope with the demands of a hard lap around the track.

Therefore, they fitted it with Dunlop Direzza semi-slick road-legal race tires, a KW suspension, Recaro Pole Position racing seats with OMP harnesses, a sequential push/pull gearshift lever for the automatic 8-speed gearbox and upgraded brakes with Endless pads.

As a result, the 1er is more stable and lighter than a standard model, therefore better on the ring. The driver also seems to know what he’s doing and the resulting footage is rather impressive.

In case you want to try the same thing, you should know that prices go from €529 ($700) for two hours (all inclusive) to €1,149 ($1,521) for a full day.
