Here's one nifty helmet design from the Italian manufacturer Suomy: 3Logy, the dual-nature modular helmet. The Suomy 3Logy is basically a high-end jet helmet, but it can also become a DOT- and ECE-approved full-face one.
While a full-face helmets could be rather cumbersome for casual daily rides in the city, especially if one stops a lot and visits many places (therefore having to take the helmet off), the jet design is more urban-friendly.

However, when planning a longer trip outside the city confinements, safety becomes paramount. Yet, you don't need a second helmet, as the Suomy 3Logy comes with a special chin piece which adds full protection for the rider's face.

The side panels come off and the special-design chin guard fits seamlessly in the dedicated slot. Screw securing adds to the overall strength of the design, though the fact that the operation needs an additional tool might be a drawback for some.

The fiberglass shell can also receive the special Suomy communications module with a great-looking carbon fiber lightweight construction. Available in multiple colors from the classic ones to lady-like purple and red, the Suomy 3Logy comes in sizes XS through XXL.
