Stellantis has finally launched SPOTiCAR in the United States. The pre-owned vehicle program has been active in Europe since 2019 and now arrives in the US to give GM's CarBravo and Ford's Blue Advantage a run for their money.
The program involves brands such as Dodge, Jeep, Ram and Wagonner, Alfa Romeo, and Chrysler, with Fiat and Abarth also being part of the program in selected markets.

SPOTiCAR, that the company spells in capital letters except for the ‘i,’ has been active for the past four years in eleven countries across the Old Continent. Now the time has come for the program to operate in the US as well. The system integrates a dedicated website and a network of specialized dealerships among Stellantis' over 2,600-dealer network.

The customer-centric plan is designed to help potential buyers purchase the pre-owned cars that they set their eyes on, simplify purchase procedures. Furthermore, the cars sold via this program are selected, appraised, and prepared by specialists.

SPOTiCAR is Stellantis' attempt to further establish itself as a multi-brand pre-owned vehicle operator, Head of US Sales Jeff Komor explains. Customers can search for the make and model they want online, locate the one that is the nearest to them, and either make the final purchase online or go see the car in person and pay for it directly at the dealership.

There are multi-point checks that the cars sold via SPOTiCAR before being put them up on sale. Two of the conditions they are offered with is a minimum three-months warranty and available extended warranty. Three month of road assistance is also included in the price, and so is the 30-day exchange commitment.

The dealership’s trained technicians check the vehicle history and mileage, while financial experts can ofer finance options. Professional advice and support are also included. All cars will be manufacturer-certified.

All that the potential buyers need to do to launch the search process is enter their zip code, and the system will display all available vehicles within the area.

The launch in the United States is an additional step to help Stellantis fulfill pre-owned vehicle sales and transactions as part of the company’s Dare Forward 2030 strategy. It is a plan that Stellantis introduced last year, and it targets three fundamental pillars: Care, Tech, and Value. A carbon-net zero by 2038 is also part of the plan.

SPOTiCAR comes as a contender for Ford’s Blue Advantage Program. Launched back in 2021, it is a new type of certified pre-owned vehicle shopping which has been enjoying a tremendous success for the past two years. The program offers a 14-day or 1,000-mile money back guarantee.

General Motors also has a backup plan in the pre-used car makers, the CarBravo program.
