Even though the i8 was officially unveiled at Frankfurt last year, the car is still not 100% ready for public roads and tests continue at BMW’s facility in Sweden where the plug-in hybrid is being reviewed from every possible angle.
One of the points they are testing could be the all-wheel-drive transmission. In case you didn’t know, the i8 will be sending power to all four wheels thanks to its architecture, with the electric motor powering the front wheels and the internal combustion unit taking care of the rear axle.

During their latest test, something must’ve went wrong and a prototype ended up being stuck in some deep.... snow. Apparently, there was also a G11 7 Series test car around whose drivers stopped for a couple of minutes to offer their assistance.

Well, it must’ve been quite a day for the guy behind the wheel of this car back at the office but at the same time, we got to see another advantage of the butterfly doors and the way the rear hatch opens. Lucky day for us, I guess!
