BMW planned to launch its second version of the X6 Sport Activity Coupe at Moscow, this summer, a plan that might very well not happen anymore, now that the Russians decided to invade Ukraine.
Since that scenario could be dropped permanently, a new date might be considered by the Bavarians to launch their revamped model, based on the same platform used by the current X5.

The F16 model was spotted testing around the world a couple of times before but this time, our spy photographers caught it with its taillights nearly undisguised, showing us what to expect in the future.

Compared to the E71 model, the overall shape seems roughly the same but inside them, the L-shaped LED strips seem rather different, more modern and ‘cool’ as a teenager would put it, creating a depth effect.

Up front, the headlights show a more rectangle-like design for the corona rings while on the side mirrors we noticed the new turn signal lights made up of thin LED strips.

Overall, the entire car looks even beefier and a bit bigger, especially up front, where the hood appears to be longer and higher inclined towards the windscreen while at the back, things look a bit taller, probably to make more headroom for the backseat passengers.

As for the drivetrains, expect less options than on the X5, 3 or 4 at the most at first, the xDrive50i and xDrive35i being sure bets and a diesel or two joining the range, one of them probably the M50d model.
